Description

Extra bulb is a Osram Made in Great Britain  Model N328. It show signs of being used but still works.
Please wait until fully warmed up to print or perform fogging tests.
Note: DO NOT REMOVE COLORED TAPE FROM FILTERS.
All darkroom environments are different.  Photographic papers from various manufacturers all have different threshold fogging points.  Make sure to impliment standard safelight fog testing before considering your darkroom safelight safe!  See this link for details Safelight Test Procedures.
For B&W papers: The vanes should be open with the yellow-edged filters (FBD) in the body and the red-edged filters (FOD) in the vanes. Testing with various papers is recommended to gauge how open the vanes should be.
For Ortho films: The vanes should be fully closed with the same configuration of filters for B&W (see above).
For Color papers: The vanes should be fully closed with the black-edged filters (FCD) in the vanes and the yellow-edges filters (FBD) in the body.
For X-Ray materials: The vanes should be fully closed with the green-edged filters (FXD) in the body and the red-edged filters (FOD) in the vanes.
All filters should be replaced every 5-6 years due to deterioration which can result in fogging.
Application
Color/Black and White/Ortho/X-ray darkroom safelight. Use FCD filters for color work. Use FBD for standard black and white printing. FOD for Ortho Films. FXD for X-ray films.
Mounting System
Ceiling mounted. Requires heavy duty ceiling mount with two sturdy eye bolts (not supplied). Recommended installation height is 7 feet from the floor (adjustable).

Yes, 11" x 3.7" filters in vanes, 11.5 x 4" filters in body; Type FBD (B/W - #42135), Type FCD (Color - #42134), Type FOD (Ortho film - #42136), Type FXD (X-Ray film - special order only). Sold in sets of 2.
Voltage
115v/60hz, 2amps. Unit is turned on by plugging it into an active electrical outlet. When cold, the system requires about 5 minutes to reach full operating brilliance. It is not recommended that it be turned on and off frequently. (230v possible by special order)
