Rare Enamel & Sterling "Karess" Compact

Description

This rare vintage sterling silver ladies vanity compact dates from the early 20th century. The American made Woodworth Karess compact is uniquely designed with a high polished black enamel lid cover beautifully embellished with the scarce motif of a Japanese red dragon. This red dragon decoration is considered extremely rare & is most sought after by collectors. The vanity rests snugly in its original fitted box. The rouge & face powder were never used & retain their original pads. The exterior of the compact is in excellent condition. There is slight age pitting, but the mirror is easily replaced. This is a rare find for the right collector !
